Become a Founding Member
Long before the galleries welcome their first visitors, a remarkable story is already unfolding. The Kansas City Quilt Museum invites just 100 Founding Members to accompany the Museum on its journey from vision to reality.
Together, we will celebrate the milestones, witness the decisions, and share in the excitement as a new permanent home for quilting takes shape. When the Museum opens, every visitor will experience its collections and exhibitions — only Founding Members will be able to say they were part of its beginning.
Founding Members are not asked to direct the project. Rather, they are invited to enjoy a unique behind-the-scenes perspective as plans become reality — from architectural design and exhibit development to collection stewardship and programming. Through regular updates, special gatherings, and exclusive experiences, Founding Members will see how a vision inspired by a lifelong love of quilts is transformed into a permanent cultural institution.
Membership in the Founding Members Society is available only during the Museum's development phase and will be permanently closed once the inaugural group is complete. Limited to just 100 members, this distinction will forever identify those who believed in the Kansas City Quilt Museum before it welcomed its first visitor.
