About the Museum
The Kansas City Quilt Museum will be a new addition joining large and small quilt museums across the country dedicated exclusively to the art, craft, and cultural history of quilts. Founded by Linda Houston for a community of collectors, educators, and artists, the museum's mission is to preserve and celebrate one of America's most significant textile traditions—and to share it with generations to come.

To inspire quilters and non-quilters alike through beauty and art, to educate the public in the craft of quilting, and to entertain through beautiful and rare quilts and exhibits.
Founder's Story
The Museum began with founder Linda Houston's lifelong love of quilting and a generous bequest from her mother — the first step toward turning a personal passion into a shared vision for Kansas City.
